(Edmonton) The defending Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos officially announced today the signing of cornerback Darrell Crutchfield. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not released.
In 2003, Crutchfield started the season quickly with 8 defensive tackles in his first four games and finished the year with 30 defensive tackles, 7 pass knockdowns and 1 interception. His best performance came in a pivotal game in Montreal (Oct 5, 2003) where he recorded 3 defensive tackles, 1 pass knockdown and 1 interception.
The former Clemson star played 4 games for the NFLs Philadelphia Eagles in the 2001 season and joined the Green and Gold near the end of the 2002 campaign.
