On Tuesday, Darren Haydar and Greg Classen each scored twice as Milwaukee opened up a four-point lead atop the overall AHL standings with a 5-1 win at San AntonioÂ… Mike SiklenkaÂ’s first goal as a member of the Grizzlies came with 4:12 left in regulation as Utah erased four separate one-goal deficits and tied Houston, 5-5.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Manchester pays its first-ever visit to the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza on Wednesday (7:05 ET) to take on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Monarchs are the hottest team in the league with one regulation loss in their last 16 contests (11-1-2-2), while the Penguins are in a four-team fight for three playoff spots in the East Division. Toby Petersen has 18 points (6g, 12a) in his last 18 games for the Pens, who will finish the regular season playing seven of their last nine games on home ice after 15 of its previous 19 came on the road. Manchester is unbeaten in seven (6-0-1) away from home, and Pavel Rosa has 16 points (9g, 7a) in his last 11 games to take over the AHL scoring lead.

Chicago makes its only trip of the season to Gund Arena on Wednesday (7:00 ET, 6:00 CT) to take on Cleveland, which has lost eight of nine meetings all-time with the Wolves. The Barons, tied for fourth in the North Division, enter play 2-5-1-2 in their last 10 but are coming off a 4-3 win over Cincinnati on Saturday in which rookies Grant Stevenson, Garrett Stafford, Jon DiSalvatore and Steve Hildenbrand combined for six points. Chicago native Stephen Baby has four goals in his last four games for the Wolves, who have posted a record of 10-6-2-1 against the North this season.

In other Wednesday action, Cincinnati takes its battle for a playoff spot into Grand Rapids, where the Mighty Ducks have been shut out in each of their last three visitsÂ… St. JohnÂ’s kicks off a critical seven-game road trip in Syracuse against the Crunch, who are 5-1-1-2 in their last nine contestsÂ… Manitoba wraps up its 40-game road schedule in Binghamton, as the Senators try to keep pace with the competition in the East DivisionÂ… Milwaukee, 14-1-2-0 at home since Jan. 22, hosts Toronto at the Bradley Center.

On Tuesday night, Matt Yeats made his NHL debut and stopped all 14 shots he faced in one period of work, mopping up in WashingtonÂ’s 3-0 loss to the N.Y. IslandersÂ… Martin Brodeur became the eighth goaltender (and sixth AHL graduate) in NHL history to amass 400 career victories, making 21 saves in New JerseyÂ’s 4-3 overtime decision at FloridaÂ… On Monday, Ty Conklin made 25 saves for Edmonton in a 2-1 win over Los AngelesÂ… Erik Westrum assisted on the overtime goal as Phoenix ended a 15-game winless streak with a 3-2 victory in Minnesota.
