Jam emerge as ABA regular season champs

LONG BEACH, CA – With a 23-7 record, the Long Beach Jam clinched the American Basketball Association (ABA) regular-season championship today by crushing the Las Vegas Rattlers 154-117. The 154 points by the Jam is the most the team has scored all season in one game.

Geno Carlisle led the Jam stampede with 42 points on 16 of 21 shooting from the field. The ever-dependable Ronnie Coleman added 31 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. For the Rattlers (10-16), Brandon Hawkins scored 36 points and Rasul Salahuddin notched 30 points in the loss.

Randy Gill, AKA White Chocolate six points and two assists for the Jam.

The JamÂ’s final regular season game is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against the Rattlers. A two-game playoff will be played in Juarez next week. The winner will come to Long Beach to face the Jam in the ABA Championship game Mar. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
