Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins announced today that defenseman Zdenek Kutlak has been reassigned to the team for conditioning purposes by the Boston Bruins. The 23-year-old native of Budejovice, Czech Republic will be in the lineup tonight, when the P-Bruins visit the Springfield Falcons at 7:35 p.m. The game can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550.

Kutlak began the season with Providence, but was recalled by Boston on November 4 after posting 2-5-7 totals in 10 games. He was reassigned to the P-Bruins on conditioning on December 7, and scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over Lowell that night, before being recalled again by Boston. He has no points in two games this season with Boston.

The 6’3”, 221-pound Kutlak ranks fourth on the P-Bruins franchise career list with 221 games played. He has 16-36-52 totals and 141 PIM in his Providence career, which began in the 2000-01 season. He also has 1-2-3 totals and 4 PIM in 16 career NHL games, all with Boston. Kutlak was Boston’s 10th pick, 237th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins return home to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Providence Bruins Hat Night, on Friday, January 16 at 7:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins hat, courtesy of the Rhode Island Lottery and WPRI CBS-12/WNAC Fox 64.
