FORT MYERS, FL (December 9, 2003) – The 2003 season was a huge success for the Fort Myers Miracle. The club set a record for victories in one half (44), reached the playoffs and drew more than 112,000 fans. For the second consecutive season and fifth time in six years they topped the 100K mark. The Miracle look to build on this success in 2004 which kicks-off at Hammond Stadium on Thursday, April 8, when the Miracle host their rivals the Sarasota Red Sox at 7:05 p.m.The schedule is highlighted by five fireworks shows: Opening Night on April 8, Memorial Weekend on May 30, June 19, the Miracle annual Independence Fireworks show on July 3 and Fan Appreciation Night September 4. Many of the great events from past years will return in 2004. There will be at least one bobble head night (June 5), the Legends of Rock and Roll Concert (July 24) and two of the biggest events of the season for kids, Big Splash (July 14), where Hammond Stadium turns into a gigantic water park and back to school backpack giveaway night (July 31).
Opening night will provide the pomp and circumstance that Miracle fans have come to enjoy during the teams previous 11 seasons in southwest Florida. Game times for the 2004 season are Monday-Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and all Sunday games at 1:05 p.m. with the exception of the Memorial Day game on May 30, which will begin at 7:05 p.m.
