Storm's Doug Teskey Named Sun National Bank Saver Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. ­ Doug Teskey of the Toledo Storm is the Sun National Bank East Coast Hockey League Saver of the Month for March. The 27-year-old Teskey was 8-2-1 with a 2.62 goals against average and a .917 save percentage as Toledo went 9-2-2 and won the Brabham Cup, awarded annually to the ECHL team with the highest regular season point total.

After opening the month 1-1-1, Teskey went 6-0-0 with a 2.48 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. He posted back-to-back wins over Peoria, who Toledo beat by one point for the Brabham Cup, on March 14 and 15. He made 29 saves in a 5-3 win on March 14 and then came on in relief of injured Brian Finley on March 15 and stopped 17 of 19 shots in a 4-3 win.

In his first season in the ECHL, Teskey was 31-8-5 and ranked third in the ECHL with 31 wins and 17th in goals against average with 2.89.

Runners Up: Josh Blackburn, Columbia (6-1-0, 2.55 GAA, .922 save pct.), Kyle Kettles, Louisiana (7-4-0, 1.92 GAA, .944 save pct.), and Duane Derksen, Peoria (4-2-1, 1.91 GAA, .930 save pct.).
