The Reno Aces swept a doubleheader for the second time this season, taking a pair of seven-inning games from the Memphis Redbirds on Wednesday night at AutoZone Park. Reno won the first game by a 4-1 score, and then took the second contest by a 10-4 count. Kyle Jensen (@TheKJensen42) tied two Aces single-season records in the nightcap, which saw Reno score in double-digits for the first time in 17 August games.

In game one, Reno (67-58) opened the scoring with three runs in the fourth inning. Sócrates Brito (@SocratesBrito) started a rally with a one-out single up the middle, and walks to Jensen and Peter O'Brien loaded the bases. Zach Borenstein got the Aces on the board with a sacrifice fly before Jack Reinheimer (@Reinheimer_08) and Carlos Rivero (@Carlos_Rivero3) added RBI singles to extend Reno's lead to 3-0.

Aces pitcher Matt Buschmann (@Busch26) helped himself in the fifth, leading off the inning with a double to right field and scoring on a double play two batters later. The Redbirds (59-65) produced the final margin at 4-1 in the sixth as Carson Kelly knocked a two-out single up the middle to plate Breyvic Valera, who had led off the frame with a base hit.

Buschmann (8-9) went the distance in the opener, pitching seven innings and allowing one earned run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts. He threw 90 pitches (54 strikes) to log his first complete game of the season and the eighth of his career. Brito led the Aces with two hits in game one, while four Reno players scored and three drove in a run.

Jensen opened the scoring for Reno in the second game, launching a Thomas Lee offering over the left-center field wall for a two-run home run. The blast raised Jensen's season totals to 27 home runs and 107 RBI, both of which tie the Aces' single-season records.

Memphis cut its deficit in half at 2-1 in the home half, loading the bases on two singles and a walk to set up a sacrifice fly. In the second, Dan Rohlfing (@DanRohlfing) hit a one-out single to left and then raced around to score on Reinheimer's RBI triple down the right-field line with two outs, pushing Reno's lead back to two.

The Aces increased their advantage to 6-1 in the third, as O'Brien walked and Todd Glaesmann (@ToddGlaesmann22) singled to set up a two-out, three-run home run by Rivero. The Redbirds responded with a run in the bottom of the frame on three singles, the last of which was an RBI base hit by Mike Ohlman.

Reno continued to pour on the runs in the fourth, as a Glaesmann grand slam pushed the lead to 10-2. Jensen and Borenstein sandwiched singles around an O'Brien walk during a two-out rally to load the bases for Glaesmann, who hit his second grand slam of the season and the team's fifth.

Memphis got a run back in the fifth on an Ohlman solo homer. In the following frame, Aces reliever Kaleb Fleck (@k_fleck) loaded the bases on two singles and a walk before he issued another free pass to cut Reno's lead to 10-4 and complete the scoring.

Five Aces players recorded multiple hits in game two, led by Reinheimer's three knocks. Glaesmann's four RBI in the contest tied his season high (also: May 24 at New Orleans), while Rivero matched his 2016 best with three RBI (three times; last: May 26 at New Orleans).

The Aces and Redbirds continue their four-game series with game three on Thursday night. First pitch from AutoZone Park is set for 5:05 p.m. PT. Left-hander Anthony Banda (4-3, 3.78) will get the ball for Reno, while Memphis will send righty Arturo Reyes (8-4, 4.52) to the mound.
