67's Drop Close One to Generals

OTTAWA, ON - The 67's lost a close one Friday night, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Oshawa Generals in a game that was up for grabs all night long.

Captain Travis Barron opened the scoring his seventh goal of the year at the 6:29 mark of the first period but the Generals responded just 13 seconds later, as Domenico Commisso tied things up. However, the 67's would regain the lead before the first was over as Peter Stratis scored his third with less than three minutes remaining.

The Generals came out firing in the second period as Matt Brassard scored twice in less than three minutes to put Oshawa ahead. Noel Hoefenmayer would respond with his fourth of the year for Ottawa to tie things 3-3 heading into the third.

Cedrik Andree made 24 saves for Ottawa in the loss while Oshawa goalie Cole Ceci turned away 33 shots

The 67's now return home for a busy weekend with games Saturday against Niagara (7 p.m.) and Sunday against Sudbury (2 p.m.). Sunday's game is the annual Teddy Bear Toss, in which fans are invited to throw new or gently used plush toys onto the ice when the 67's score their first goal. The toys will then be donated to Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario.
