66ers Come up Short in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - The Tulsa 66ers fell to the Austin Toros, 104-91, on Friday night at Cedar Park Center in Austin, Texas. Andre Roberson, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, tallied 13 points and nine rebounds.

Five 66ers scored in double figures, paced by Mario Little's 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Rodney Bartholomew collected 13 points and four boards while Mustafa Shakur had 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Tulsa (9-18) outrebounded the Toros 46-37 behind a career-best 16 boards from Maurice Sutton to go along with his 12 points and three blocks. Forty-three of Tulsa's rebounds came in the final three quarters.

The Toros (11-14) took a 19-point lead in the opening quarter, ending the frame up 36-18. The 66ers began to claw back, outscoring Austin 26-18 in the second.

After trailing 70-60 with just under four minutes remaining in the third, the 66ers closed out the quarter on an 11-4 run to pull within three heading into the fourth. Tulsa pulled within two early in the fourth but Austin responded with a 9-0 run to make it 86-74 with seven minutes left. The Toros led by double digits the remainder of the night.

Austin was led by Myck Kabongo with 19 points and Josh Howard with 16 points and nine rebounds.
