The NBL Canada Atlantic Conference finals returned to Halifax on Monday afternoon for game five of the seven game series. Both teams came into the game tied at two games apiece. Halifax was able to come away with the 94-82 win, taking a 3-2 lead in the series.

The Storm came out of the gate on fire, going on an 8-0 run to start the first quarter. However, the lead did not last long as Halifax clawed their way back, eventually taking a 13-10 lead, and finishing the first quarter with a 19-16 lead. In the second quarter, the Storm used stingy defence to keep Halifax to only 17 points in the frame. The first half finished with the Storm leading 42-36.

The Storm were able to push the lead to 50-39 in the third quarter before Halifax went on a 12-0 run, retaking the lead 51-50 halfway through the third. The Canes used a 12 point scoring outburst from guard Antoine Mason to outscore the Storm 27-17 in the third frame, taking a 63-59 lead into the fourth. The Storm had no answer for the Hurricanes high tempo offence in the fourth, getting outscored 31-23 in the final quarter.

Mason was Halifax's top scorer with 31 points on 11-17 shooting. Halifax got twin 15 point, 10 rebound double-doubles from forwards Renaldo Dixon and Billy White. Guard Cliff Clinkscales continued his playoff tear with a season high 17 assists in the win.

For the Storm, forward Akeem Ellis was the high man with 17 points. Guard Jahii Carson added 16 points and 7 assists for the Storm, while Terry Thomas contributed 13 points.

Game six of the series will be played at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, PEI on Tuesday, May 23 at 7pm. If necessary, the seventh and final game of the series will take place on Thursday, May 25th in Halifax, NS.
