2015 FSL Scholarship Winners Announced

JUPITER, Fla - The Florida State League Scholarship Committee awarded twelve (12) $1,500 educational scholarship to applicants from each team in the Florida State League last week, with two members of Roger Dean Stadium being named recipients of educational scholarships.
Ethan Jones and Charles McDulin were both awarded scholarships based on financial need and holding a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Students eligible for this award must have been an employee of, or the child or grandchild of an employee of the participating clubs and must be at least a junior in high school by the 2015 fall term.
Ethan currently attends Southeast Missouri State and is majoring in Agricultural Business. During the 2015 baseball season, Ethan was a member of the Roger Dean Stadium Grounds Crew. Charles is majoring in Finance and Accounting at Palm Beach State University and has been a bat boy at Roger Dean Stadium for the past five years.
"We are proud to have two members of the Roger Dean Stadium team to be named Florida State League Scholarship recipients." said Mike Bauer, General Manager of Roger Dean Stadium. "The Marlins Foundation has done an incredible job of sponsoring this program and we are happy that they were able to contribute to this great program."
For the past sixteen (16) years, the Miami Marlins have sponsored the program and have contributed a total of $160,500. Florida State League President Ken Carson stated, "I am very proud of all the hard work the teams do with all the teams participating, and I congratulate all of the winners. I want to thank the Miami Marlins for their continued support for this great program. They are a great partner."
The scholarship winners will be guests of the Miami Marlins in pre-game ceremonies on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 1:10pm. The members from Roger Dean Stadium who were selected will also be honored at this Saturday's game as the Palm Beach Cardinals play host to the Ft. Myers Miracle at 5:35 p.m.

Saturday's game is also Back to School Night at Roger Dean Stadium. The first 500 kids 15 and under will receive a complimentary backpack as they walk through the gates. Plus, there will be many vendors in the concourse giving away back to school items to fill those backpacks with school supplies.
