2011 First Team AHL All-Star Mark Mancari Assigned to Chicago

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned right wing MARK MANCARI (man-KAH-ree), a First Team American Hockey League All-Star in 2011, to the Chicago Wolves.

MANCARI ranked fifth in the AHL with a career-high 32 goals and shared 14th in the league with 64 points in 56 games with the Portland Pirates last season. He also posted six goals and 12 points in nine Calder Cup playoff matchups. The London, Ont., native also skated in 20 National Hockey League contests with the Buffalo Sabres last year, recording seven assists and eight points.

Overall, the 26-year-old forward has tallied 10 assists and 13 points in 36 career NHL matchups with Buffalo (2006-07; 2008-11) and 151 goals, 209 assists and 360 points in 418 career AHL contests with Portland and the Rochester Americans, spanning six seasons (2005-11).

The Wolves open their 18th season at 7 p.m. on Saturday when they battle the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center. The club holds its home opener, presented by LifeSource, at 7 p.m., Sat., Oct. 15, against the Milwaukee Admirals at Allstate Arena.
