Charlotte Stone Crabs News Release

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs will host their 2010 Golf Tournament at Riverwood Golf Club on Wednesday, June 23 at 1:30 p.m. with proceeds benefitting the Charlotte County YMCA Scholarship Fund.

With the $75 entry free, each participant will receive a round of golf at Riverwood Golf Club with Stone Crabs players or coaches, an all-you-can-eat dinner after the tournament, and the opportunity to bid in a silent auction featuring rare baseball memorabilia.

The tournament will be a four-man scramble with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Spots are limited, so interested players should call 941-206-4487 and reserve their spot by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21. On-site registration for the tournament starts at 12:30 p.m. at Riverwood. Individuals and full teams are encouraged to sign-up.

All proceeds benefit the YMCA Scholarship Program, which aids families in need of child care in the Charlotte County area. The YMCA never turns anyone away if they need financial help to participate in the YMCA for membership and/or programs. In 2008 the YMCA had 1,360 people on scholarship at a total cost of $142,527. A large percentage of the scholarships go to assist families with their childcare needs. The Charlotte County Family YMCA is the largest provider of childcare in Charlotte County. All proceeds will go towards the YMCAs Annual Support Campaign For Those In Need which subsidizes the YMCA scholarship program. Visit www.CharlotteCountyYMCA.com for more information.

Last year's tournament raised more than $2,500 for the YMCA. For more information on the tournament, please call 941-206-HITS (4487) or visit www.StoneCrabsBaseball.com.
