Charlotte Knights News Release

(Fort Mill, SC) -- The Charlotte Knights are set to give fans a real "boom" for their buck with 13 exhilarating fireworks shows during the 2013 season -- the last season at Knights Stadium.

"Fans will sure have a "˜blast' at Knights Stadium in 2013," said Knights General Manager of Baseball Operations Scott Brown. "We're set to host a great post-game show after every Saturday home game, as well as a fireworks extravaganza at the ballpark on July 3rd for an early Independence Day celebration. Fans love fireworks and we're set to give them 13 great shows this season."

Charlotte will host the Durham Bulls, Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, in the opening game of their four-game series on Saturday, April 13 at 7:15 p.m. After the game, Knights fans can ooh and ahh with the first fireworks show of the season. In all, 11 of the 13 fireworks shows will take place during the team's Saturday Night Fireworks series, presented by BB&T Ballpark.

On Saturday, May 11, the Knights will raise money for Charlotte Radiology by hosting their eighth annual Pink Knights, presented by Charlotte Radiology and Belk. Players will wear specialty pink jerseys and pink hats that will be auctioned off with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Carolinas Breast Friends. After the game, the Knights will light-up the sky with an exciting post-game fireworks show.

In addition, the Knights and WBT will present their annual "Skyshow" event. This year's fireworks extravaganza will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd after the 7:15 p.m. game against Durham. The July 3rd fireworks show will be the biggest of the 2013 season.

Fans can also expect two great fireworks shows during Labor Day weekend on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1. Both of those games are 7:15 p.m. games and the Knights will host the Gwinnett Braves, Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for 12 of the 13 games, while gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on July 3rd. For $150, fans can purchase a Fireworks Ticket Package, which includes one field box ticket and one parking pass to all 11 Saturday fireworks shows, plus the July 3rd "Skyshow " and September 1st game.
