July 27, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to announce that the 6th Annual K+S Potash Canada Alumni Golf Tournament held earlier this month has raised $100,048 for the Warriors Education Fund.

The Western Hockey League is currently one of the leading providers of post-secondary scholarships in Western Canada. The WHL Scholarship is considered to be the most attractive and flexible hockey scholarship due to the fact it is a fully guaranteed academic scholarship with no requirement to play university hockey to qualify, and the student athlete can apply the funding to any post-secondary program of his choice.

Since 1993, the WHL has awarded more than 5,200 Scholarships to graduate players, representing an investment by WHL ownership of more than $17 million. This past season, 328 WHL Graduates used the WHL Scholarship at 82 different post-secondary institutions across North America, representing an investment of over $2 million by WHL Clubs. Of those scholarships, the Moose Jaw Warriors were responsible for 31 for a total of $142,103. Former Moose Jaw Warriors who utilized the scholarship include Kendall McFaull (University of Saskatchewan), Sam Fioretti (Acadia University), Jason Bast (University of Regina), Spencer Edwards (University of Calgary), Chad Suer (University of Saskatchewan), and Jeff Bosch (Lakehead University).
