Huntsville Havoc News Release

ROANOKE, VA- Huntsville scores multiple goals in the first and third to take game-one of a two-game weekend series against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

The Havoc scored the game's first goal for the second time as many nights with a shot from John Clewlow at 4:41 into the opening frame. Huntsville now has goals during the first period in four of their last six. But Huntsville was just getting started as Michael Piluso found a puck laying at the goal mouth off a shot from Clewlow to pot it in the back of the wide-open net. Piluso's fifth of the year was also assisted by Jordan Wood; his second of the night.

Four minutes later, Dylan Nowakowski scored his fifth goal in last six games to give the Havoc a three- goal lead to end the first. The three-goal first period was the fourth time Huntsville registered multiple goals in the opening frame and second three-goal first.

In the second, Roanoke came back with two of their own. The first came four minutes into the middle frame while the second came in the final three minutes of the period.

During the final frame of regulation, Roanoke completed the comeback with their third of the night six and a half minutes into the third.

But with an injured Roanoke skating slowly back to the bench from the Havoc zone, Justin Tateson wheeled the puck up the ice. Seeing an opening through a now shorthanded Roanoke team, Tateson placed the puck high over the glove of the Rail Yard Dawg goaltender and into the back of the net.

"I noticed a guy without a stick another not in the play and decided it was a good opportunity to jump and it just worked out well with Wood saw me coming in late," said Tateson. Those are plays that we work on in practice. To win this game late is huge and to start another winning streak is big for this team."

Stunned fans at the Berglund Center in Roanoke looked on as the Havoc came racing back down the ice fourteen seconds later as Sy Nutkevitch scored to cap off a 5-3 win for Huntsville.
