GreenJackets Fall in Extras for Sixth Straight Loss Drive Complete Sweep of GreenJackets

Augusta, GA-Brett Netzer singled home Brett Studdard with two outs in the top of the eleventh inning to give the Greenville Drive a 3-2 lead over the Augusta GreenJackets Sunday evening at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The GreenJackets failed to score in the bottom of the frame as they dropped their sixth straight game both at home and overall and finished 0-3 in each of the last two homestands.

The GreenJackets trailed 2-0 at the seventh inning stretch. Sandro Fabian started off the bottom of the seventh with back-to-back singles. Jacob Heyward advanced them to second and third with a sacrifice bunt. With two outs, Michael Bernal singled home both runners to tie the game at two. Bernal's single ended the night for Drive starter Enmanuel De Jesus who struck out seven in six and two thirds innings.

With the game scoreless, Mitchell Gunsolus drew a walk to lead off the top of the second inning for the Drive. He then stole second. With two outs, Granger Studdard singled him home to give the Drive the early 1-0 lead. Tyler Hill led off the following inning with a double. Jerry Downs hit a two-out double to score him making it 2-0 Drive.

The GreenJackets will be back in action Tuesday night for game one of a three-game series with the Lexington Legends. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm. D.J. Myers (2-8, 4.14) will start on the mound for the GreenJackets against Ofreidy Gomez (7-11, 5.23) for the Legends.

The next game at Lake Olmstead Stadium will be Friday September 1st against the Charleston RiverDogs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm with the gates opening at 5:00pm. It is Ladies Night presented by The Walking Company, Tin Lizzy's Cantina, Brooks Haven Floral and Flowers LLC, Palm Beach Tan, Pure Barre Augusta, The Swank Company, Barefoot Wine and Refreshers, and Oliviana Ristorante. It is also Comfort Keepers Baseball Bingo Night and day one of Fan Appreciation Weekend. There will also be a pre-game autograph session on the warning track. After the game, kids ages twelve and under will be able to run the bases.
