Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - He served as the voice of the Dubuque Fighting Saints for three seasons, and the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL last season, and today, Zack Fisch has moved even further up the ladder. Today, he was named by the Hershey Bears as the "Voice of the Bears," effective immediately for the 2016-17 season.

Fisch, who presided over many of the Fighting Saints' high points, including the 2013 Clark Cup championship and the timeless golden goal by Frankie DiChiara, the hiring of coaches Matt Shaw and Jason Lammers, the bronze medal run at the Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia, as well as two additional long playoff runs by the Saints, now moves on to the American Hockey League level with one of the league's most hallowed franchises.

"I am honored and thrilled to be joining the Hershey Bears. The Bears are a prestigious organization that is second to none in championships and attendance in the franchise's 78-year history," Fisch said. "My time in Dubuque helped me prepare to advance in professional hockey, and I enjoyed a successful season in South Carolina last year because of it."

"Dubuque will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm proud to consider myself a #Saint4Life."

The Bears have had a history of tremendous, unparalleled excellence since their instatement into the AHL. They have won 11 Calder Cup championships, including three in the past ten seasons, 23 conference championships, 17 division championships and seven regular season titles. Last season, the Bears made it all the way to the Calder Cup Final, falling to the Lake Erie Monsters.

"We're unbelievably excited for Zack," said the vice president of business operations, Katie Kenne. "His infectious personality and tremendous skill as a broadcaster was a hit here with the fans. No doubt that he'll do wonderful work with the Hershey Bears."

Fisch, originally from Olathe, Kan., excelled in his role with the Fighting Saints, serving as the main voice of the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Dubuque, and having hosted the USHL's Draft Show twice.

The Bears and the Stingrays are proud affiliates of the Washington Capitals organization.
