Colorado Eagles News Release

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced Tuesday that they have re-signed forward Jesse Mychan for the 2016-17 season. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound winger finished the 2015-16 season tied for the league lead in goal-scoring with 32 goals on the year. In total, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native generated 55 points and 169 penalty minutes in 63 games with Colorado during the 2015-16 campaign.

"I'm very excited to come back for my third season in Colorado and I'm also excited about the new affiliation with the Colorado Avalanche, which should be great for the players and the fans," said Mychan. "I can't wait to get the season going and be a part of the great legacy in Colorado once again."

Mychan returned to Colorado last season after spending the 2014-15 season with the Cardiff Devils of the EIHL, notching 25 points and 157 penalty minutes in 44 games. Prior to heading overseas, Mychan made his professional debut with the Eagles in 2013-14, posting 262 penalty minutes to go along with 18 points in 55 games.

"Jesse took a major step forward last season and really began to realize his full potential as a power forward at the professional level," said Eagles general manager Chris Stewart. "We knew going into last year that he would provide us with a true toughness on the ice, but his hard work and dedication have allowed him to grow exponentially when it comes to the offensive side of the game. This season I know that his focus will be on consistency and foot speed, which are the two attributes that can get him to the next level and beyond."

In addition to his experience in both the ECHL and EIHL, Mychan has also seen action in five AHL contests with the Portland Pirates and most recently the San Jose Barracuda.

Season tickets for the 2016-17 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468). The 2016-17 regular season home schedule kicks off on Saturday, October 15th when the Eagles host the Rapid City Rush. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
