Slugger Soaring into the Swamp

May 24, 2016 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The saying goes "you can never have too much of a good thing". The SwampDogs are digging into the phrase with another batting champion, nabbing future Southeast Missouri RedHawk Tristen Gagen. Gagen set the school record at Northeastern Oklahoma with a .477 batting average in 2015 and followed it up with a .464 average this spring. The SwampDogs are counting on significant contributions from four pitchers in the Petitt Cup chase. Sophomore catcher Hunter Morris and freshman infielder Nick Maton will suit up for the SwampDogs this summer and help in the quest for the Petitt Cup. Jordan Ding, who's brother Tyler played for the SwampDogs in 2012, is currently the National Junior College Athletic Association's top hitter.
