Former Assistant GM Passes Away

July 4, 2016 - DANVILLE, VA - It is with sadness that the Danville Braves announce that recently retired Assistant General Manager Bob Kitzmiller passed away this morning after a brief illness. Kitzmiller, 66, first started with the team in 1998 when Danville hosted two professional baseball teams, the Rookie level Danville Braves and the Single A Danville 97's. He moved into the front office in 2001 to take over the Assistant GM position and stayed in that position until his retirement in March of this year.... Full Story

Danville Drops Another Close Contest

July 3, 2016 - DANVILLE, Va. - Danville dropped another close contest Sunday night, falling to Burlington 3-2. Tyler Neslony had a strong offensive performance in his D-Braves debut going two-for-three with an RBI and a run scored, but the Braves found themselves on the losing end of another low-scoring affair. In the bottom of the second, Darien McLemore delivered an RBI single to score Neslony and end the Braves run drought after 20 scoreless innings. Braves Shutout in 2-0 Loss to Burlington

July 2, 2016 - DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves were held scoreless for the second straight night, dropping another close contest, this time to the Burlington Royals by a 2-0 final score. Burlington's Vance Vizcaino scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Cristhian Vazquez in the top of the second to give the Royals an early lead. Braves on Losing End of Pitchers'

July 1, 2016 - DANVILLE, Va. - The pitchers were in control in Friday night's contest between the Braves and Cardinals, where a first inning run proved enough for Johnson City to earn the win. The bats started to come alive in the later portion of the contest, but, through six innings, each team was held to just three hits. Johnson City went on to earn the 1-0 win to take two out of three from the D-Braves. Braves starter Luis Mora pitched six strong innings with six strikeouts. He allowed just three hits, ...
