Jalen Smereck Traded to the Flint Firebirds

June 30, 2016 - OSHAWA, ON- The Oshawa Generals have announced today that they have traded defenceman Jalen Smereck to the Flint Firebirds in exchange for 2nd round pick in 2018, 4th round pick in 2017 and 4th round pick in 2019. Smereck will be returning to his home state of Michigan, entering his second season in the OHL. May 20, 2016 - Oshawa, On - Earlier today the Flint Firebirds announced the appointment of Eric Wellwood as the new Associate Coach. Eric coached two seasons with the Generals, where he won an OHL Championship and a Memorial Cup.
