Warriors Select Zaitsev 33rd Overall

June 28, 2016 - With the 33rd overall selection at the 2016 CHL Import Draft the Moose Jaw Warriors drafted 18-year-old defenseman Dmitry Zaitsev. Zaitsev, 6'1"/185lbs/LD, is from Togliatti, Russia and played last season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), in 53 games he had seven goals, 15 assists, 22 points, and 74 penalty minutes, and was named to the All-East Division Rookie Team. June 27, 2016 - The Moose Jaw Warriors have released their 2016-2017 Western Hockey League regular season schedule. The regular season will begin Friday, September 23rd with the first game of a weekend home-and-home series against the defending WHL Champion Brandon Wheat Kings. June 25, 2016 - Moose Jaw Warriors Brett Howden and Noah Gregor were selected this weekend at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft in Buffalo, New York. The first Warrior off the board was forward Brett Howden, who was selected in the 1st round, 27th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Last year Howden had 24 goals and 64 points in 68 games and finished fourth in team scoring.
