Former Rider Jorge Alfaro Promoted to Big Leagues

August 26, 2016 - According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, the Philadelphia Phillies plan to recall Jorge Alfaro, a former catcher for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. He will have a chance to make his Major League debut Friday night in a road game against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Alfaro is the 147th former RoughRiders player to reach the big leagues. August 26, 2016 - SAN ANTONIO - Scott Carroll tossed 5 2/3 innings and only allowed a run, but the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Rangers, fell to the San Antonio Missions 4-3 in 10 innings Thursday night at Wolff Stadium.
