December 6, 2016 - MCALLEN, Texas - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Whataburger will once again team up to spread holiday cheer to children across the Rio Grande Valley with a Toy Drive that will benefit Easter Seals-Rio Grande Valley. December 5, 2016 - Hidalgo, Texas, November 27, 2016 - Rio Grande Valley Viper's Gary Payton II was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Nov. 28, through Sunday, Dec. 4. The RGV Vipers went 2-0 on the road during the week and were led by Payton II. Gary Payton II had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in the 103-83 win over Reno Bighorns on December 1. November 26, 2016 - Hidalgo, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers(4-2), the NBA Development League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, falls to Los Angeles D-Fenders (5-1) 120-132. Isaiah Taylor led both teams in scoring. Taylor scored 35 points for the Vipers in the 41 minutes that he played in the match.
