Aquino Named FSL Player of the Week

May 3, 2016 - Lakeland, FL - Aristides Aquino has been named the Florida State League offensive player of the week for the week of April 25th-May 1st. Aquino hit 8-for-18 during that time, with four home runs and nine RBI. The outfielder also drew four walks, while scoring six times. It's the first such honor for Aquino in his six-year career, spanning five different leagues. He becomes the first Tortuga named to the award since Sebastian Elizalde was honored July 7-15, 2015. May 3, 2016 - Lakeland, FL - Aristides Aquino homered for the fifth time in a week, as the Daytona Tortugas blasted past the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 7-4, Tuesday night at Henley Field. Aquino had three hits and two RBI in total, as Daytona scored their second most runs in a road game this season. May 2, 2016 - Lakeland, FL - The Daytona Tortugas managed just three hits in their 3-2 loss against the Lakeland Flying Tigers Monday night at Henley Field. Aristides Aquino and Taylor Sparks drove in the pair of runs for Daytona, who went 2-for-12 with men in scoring position and left eight on base. Tortugas in Seventh Heaven Friday Night

April 29, 2016 - Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Tortugas scored their most runs in 20 games, beating the Dunedin Blue Jays, 7-1, Friday night at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The seven runs is only bested by the 10 runs scored by Dayton in their second game of the season. Blake Butler homered and drove in a season-high four runs.
