3 Islanders Invited to Hockey Canada Camps

June 21, 2016 - On Monday, Hockey Canada released the names of the players that have been invited to their numerous development camps taking place this summer. Islanders defenseman Guillaume Brisebois has been invited to Canada's National Junior Summer Development Camp, taking place July 30th-August 6th, in Toronto and Michigan. Sprong Undergoes Successful Surgery

June 17, 2016 - Pittsburgh Penguins executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford announced today that Charlottetown Islanders forward Daniel Sprong underwent successful right shoulder surgery. Sprong was injured during practice while serving as one of the 'Black Aces' during the Penguins' Stanley Cup championship run. June 16, 2016 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League released the preseason schedule for all 18 teams on Thursday. To kick off training camp this year, the Islanders will join the other Maritime teams in a Rookie Tournament in Moncton from August 19 to 21. Being held at the brand new Superior Propane Centre. Guillaume Brisebois Looking Forward to Joining Islanders

June 14, 2016 - Guillaume Brisebois was a little surprised when he heard he was no longer part of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan but said he welcomed a fresh start with a new organization. "I knew the Islanders were a very good organization and that they will be a strong team this season," Brisebois said a few days after being dealt to the Islanders. "I was surprised but really happy."
