Strong Second Half Earns Independence 3-1 Victory in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, PA - The Charlotte Independence on Saturday afternoon used a three-goal second half to top the Harrisburg City Islanders 3-1 at FNB Field. The win is Charlotte's second straight and completes a season-sweep of the Islanders for 2016. The Independence also beat Harrisburg 2-1 at Ramblewood Stadium on April 2. Blue Rocks Add Mondesi to Roster as Rehabber

Wilmington, DE - The Kansas City Royals placed infielder Raul Mondesi on the Wilmington Blue Rocks roster on Saturday. The 20-year-old Los Angeles native is rehabbing with the Rocks as part of his return from a 50-game suspension by Major League Baseball for violating the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Barring rainouts, he will be eligible to resume his season at Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Monday, July 4. Burks' Eighth Inning Double Earns Pelicans First Second Half Win

MYRTLE BEACH - Charcer Burks delivered a go-ahead double in the eighth inning to earn the Myrtle Beach Pelicans their first win of the second half, defeating the Carolina Mudcats 4-3 Friday at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Sugar Land, TX - For the first time in seven tries the Somerset Patriots (35-25) defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters (30-30) 2-0 Friday evening at Constellation Field in the opener of the four game series.
