Colorado Wildcats - 1998: 9-5
* - Owned by Gary Kozacek, who also was head coach/owner of the same Wildcats team for the previous 9 years, as they competed in semi-pro football in and around Colorado
* - Played their home games at the Denver Coliseum
* - Struggled financially, even folding for two weeks before a new owner, Tom Shafer, bailed the team out and allowed them to finish the season
* - Lost to Louisiana 67-61 in semi-finals
* - Shafer proclaimed the Wildcats would be a part of the IFL, but the team folded
Honolulu Hurricanes - 1998: 6-8
* - The ownership partners - registered as Pro Sports Limited Liability Company - were Rev. John Frederick, the team's co-coach; Sig Schuster, the CEO; Dennis Enomoto; Neil Wiedemann; Louis "Sonny" Souza, the team's on-field coach; and James K. Wong.
* - Based in Honolulu, and played their home games at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.
* - After the season, the Hurricanes were sold and moved to the IPFL.
Utah Catzz - 1998: 5-9
* - Owned by Michael & Carla Curran, who also started a farm club for the Catzz, the Salt Lake Lions (semi-pro football team)
* - Played their home games at the David O. McKay Events Center in Orem
* - Team office located in Salt Lake City.
* - After a 5-8 record, their playoff possibilities gone, and the team being financially strapped, they forfeited the last game of the 1998 season against the Madison Mad Dogs
* - After the season was over, they left the league during its reorganization and started their own semi-pro indoor league called the Utah Indoor Football League in 1999.
Texas Bullets - 1998: 2-8
* - Owned by Wayne Stigler, who also was the team's head coach
* - Played their home games at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, TX., with the team offices located in Temple, TX
* - The team folded after ten regular season games
* - The Bullets franchise was moved to Austin, TX. in 1999 and renamed the Texas Terminators in the renamed Indoor Professional Football League.
Minnesota Monsters - 1998: 0-14
* - Owned by Robert and Joann Edwards
* - Played their games at Warner Coliseum on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds
* - Folded after starting 1-4 on the season
* - Minnesota's lone victory was ruled a forfeit awarded to Honolulu

Syracuse Blitz - The "Blitz" franchise was originally awarded to Buffalo, NY on June 16, 1997. In September 1997, the AFL announced their next franchise would be in Buffalo also, later on known as the Buffalo Destroyers. This forced the move of the PIFL "Blitz" to Syracuse, NY. They played a single exhibition game against the Louisiana Bayou Beast in 1998. Syracuse was supposed to play in the following season, but never did
Las Vegas Outlaws - Played one exhibition game at Honolulu and was supposed to be am expansion team for 1999
Fort Wayne Safari - The Safari were announced as a 2002 expansion team for the IPFL during the 2001 season. Unfortunately, the league disbanded following the season and the team never saw the field
