Portland Prowlers (IPFL)
Portland Prowlers
League: Indoor Professional Football League (IPFL)
Home: Portland, Oregon
Active: 2000

The Prowlers burst on the scene in 2000, thanks in large part to the presence of former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Erik Wilhelm. Under the former NFL passer, the Prowlers averaged 41 points per game, and their league-leading defense helped the team to an 11-5 record. Unfortunately for the Prowlers, they met another former NFL passer in John Fourcade in the title game, and Fourcade's Mississippi Fire Dogs took a 53-48 victory in the IPFL's third title game. The Prowlers folded after their only season.
