Honolulu Hurricanes (IPFL)
Honolulu Hurricanes
League: Indoor Professional Football League (IPFL)
Home: Honolulu, Hawaii
Active: 1998

One of the PIFL's founding members, the Hurricanes somehow found a way to complete the season, despite high travel costs to the mainland. They finished the season 6-8, but nearly played for the league title when PIFL commissioner Dick Suess threatened to kick the Green Bay, Madison and Colorado franchises out of the PIFL after they announced they would be forming the Indoor Football League the following year. Alas, the trio remained in the league for the rest of the year, and in the playoff field, and Honolulu played its last game on August 2. The Hurricanes would be replaced by the Hawaii Hammerheads the following season.
