Default Will Joe now bash the WNBA?

KRISTIN GREEN SCORES 25, THEN LEAVES OC GLADIATORS FOR WNBA
22-Jan-2008

http://www.abalive.com/news/releases...=2008012206002

Aliso Viejo, CA -- The buzz around the third-ever signing of a female player in the ABA and then the incredible 25-point performance in only her second game was short lived as the Orange County Gladiators announced that Kristen Green will be leaving the team to prepare for the WNBA LA Sparks training camp in April. Green, who starred at UC Irvine, recently conducted a private workout with Gladiator coach and Green's agent, Tony Farmer, and LA Sparks head coach Michael Cooper and was impressive enough to earn an invitation to the team's training camp.

She leaves the Gladiators having made 9 out of 15 shots including 7-3 pointers over 2 games while showing that her signing by the team was much more than a publicity stunt. "We are sad to see her go but knew she had the ability and are proud of her," stated team owner David R. Clarke. "Kristen immediately earned the respect of our guys by showing she could play and now we all intend to give her our full support as she now will get the opportunity to pursue her dream."

Ms. Green will still be a frequent guest of the team and will be at their next home game along with the rest of the team this Saturday, Jan. 26 vs the Maywood Buzz. Tickets and information can be found at the Gladiator's Web site at www.ocgladiators.com.

Honored to have been the 13th player for the Vermont Frost Heaves game on 2-16-07 against the Maryland Nighthawks.

The ABA is the basketball equivalent of Amp'd Mobile.

No - I think Joe's reaction will be the opposite. Either one of the following:

The ABA had yet another player called up to the WNBA

or

The ABA has given a player a chance to achieve her dream of playing in the WNBA. Can the "C-League" or "P-League say that?

The OC press release was very professional. It expressed pride in her and wished her nothing but the best.

Simply put: It's how press releases should be typed when ABA teams move to other leagues.

This league has had 50+ year old men play in it.

And a woman dropped 25 on them.

I'm not one who says that women can't play - because they can. Physically, though, in a sport like this, it should not be easy for a woman - any woman - to score 25 points in a men's professional league.

Oh, wait, this isn't a professional league. My bad.

Correct.

Even a midget can score 25 in the ABA.

Also Joe will bash everyone including his mother.

The chick dropping 25 in a game speaks VOLUMES about the ABA...

I'm begining to wonder if "rec-league quality" is giving them too much cred...

This is the league that..........

...the director of officials is living overseas on some owners dime
...there have been opinions sprouted about the refereeing of games in Singapore and people told to shut up to "remember the big picture"
...conspiracy theories about Vermonts 'championship'
...a 50 year old man playing games
...teams with 5-6 guys on the road never seeming to foul out players (because there is nobody else)

...why not let the other team know that you want the lady to score some points to get some publicity. In this league its desperately needed.

Due to numerous threats of legal action from certain people.......all of the above is my opinion only and it should be noted that I have never invested in the ABA. It is simply one mans opinion.
