International Basketball League - Team in Dayton, Ohio
According to the Dayton Daily News (and other papers) today, there will be a new IBL forming. So far, as far I can determine, just scanning the headlines, their will be teams in Dayton OH, Grand Rapids MI, Flint MI, Quad Cities IL, Sioux City IA, Des Moines IA, Peoria IL...
Does anyone have any further info on this?
I cannot imagine where the Dayton team is planning to play... The Nutter Center is booked pretty heavily with hockey and college BB.

Actually, the type of game sounds really neat. However, I'm not sure if I like the business plan.

IBL 2005
Will the new IBL have any of the old IBL franchises in
it? Does the league have a website? Is RALPH ROSSI
the league owner?

No, the IBL will be run by a guy out of Washington State. The prospecxtive franchise cities dont seem like cities the original wouldve gone in.

If I remember right, the IBL was all set to have a team in Flint, MI when the league went under. I seem to remember the owner of the Flint team being interviewed on WDFN, 1 of the 2 sports radio stations in Detroit. I'm not sure if it is the same franchise that ended up in the CBA as the Flint Fuze for one year, before moving to Birch Run, MI and becoming the Great Lakes Storm.
I remember this mainly because of the team name. They were to be named the Stones. That would make them the Flint Stones!

The leagues website is www.iblhoopsonline.com. I still don't get what the league will be. Their site isnt reall saying whether they will try be the top minor league(hard to do with a 20 game schedule) or a feeder to the ABA,CBA,NBDL and NBA(like the WBA)
I do kinda like all these minor leagues popping up though! :P
