I give the AIFA an A this week! I actually watched the Tallahassee Titans-Florence Phantoms game last night on internet TV. NFL Europe used to do this for free as well. The video was quite good (not great) but really good. The two FSU students did a decent job with the play by play. The video sold itself.
The AIFA game system is entertaining too. The two linebackers have to be 3 to 6 yards off of the line of scrimmage in this game system. Makes for a pretty decent game much to my surprise.
For the rest of you guys, you need to take a look at who is in charge of your league (the commissioner) and start questioning whether they should still be employed because no one is pushing the envelope in the other leagues.

Wouldn't pushing the envelope get players hurt (oh wait...you don't give a d@mn about the players).

This league (NIFL) is like a frickin' cockroach. You could throw a nuclear bomb at it and it would still survive

So I'd rather spend a quarter of an ABA franchise to repair my car, as opposed to spending a franchise and a half to get a new car that might have some planned obsolescence that causes it to break down 5 days after the end of the warranty period.

You should give the A to the team. They're the ones responsible for the broadcast.
And there are other leagues that are doing similar things.

What other internet TV things elsewhere? For example?
Radio broadcasts are ok, but not good enough. I want the real deal -- internet TV.

The WIFL has a video broadcast for select games. Granted it's not live, but it is game video, and it's free. There is a radio broadcast for every game that is both live and free.
As anything else, internet TV comes with a price tag....And it ain't cheap.
It's really cool that the Titans are willing to bite the bullet to do what they do for free, but many teams/ leagues simply can't afford to put on a live, free, TV style broadcast.

Wrong mindset gonzo.
"It might be possible if...."
If you desire to be the best you need to raise your own pirate flag and set sail for uncharted waters. If it ain't broke don't fix it...is bad business advice.

One step at a time is good business sense, too. You can't continually criticize every organization that doesn't do everything perfectly. Yes, they would all love to do everything, too. They also have limited manpower and resources, though, and have to be wise about how they use them. I'd rather see teams concentrate first on ticket and sponsorship sales, then move on to nice things like Internet video. If there are some teams, such as the Titans, who are already ahead of the game in sales, more power to them in branching out with other outreach efforts.

Your above comments are well-meaning and respected.
All I'm saying is I've outlived a lot of my bosses (five to be exact at my current employer). I've proposed ideas and have created a win-win situation here at work when initially the status quo said basically the same well-meaning response as you preeths -- we don't have time..., etc. When people look back on what I've done, they are somewhat embarrassed on their own inability to think outside of the box (raising the pirate flag). It takes one person to make things happen and by following thru/experimenting without interference.
A particular league decided to expand, more than double. That was a bonehead move when you consider the "resources" that could have been devoted to internet TV. It's just a matter of time before someone comes up with a creative way to blackout internet tv access. It may not even be high tech -- fans submit their credit card number, the computer looks up the billing address, if the billing address is within a reasonable drive to the arena, you are denied access to the game on your computer. That took me a whole what ten minutes to think about?
I don't see the vision and long term risk taking that should be occurring....

If it's all about "raising a pirate flag", then welcome aboard the Jolly friggin Roger my friend. The WIFL itself couldn't be anymore of a rebelion. All of it's teams, coaches, it's commisioner, it's media relations director, and all of the arenas were in other leagues last season.
They all bolted to form a new, unproven league. It couldn't have been any more of a gamble. Nobody could be sure of how things would go, but it's working out.
Now as far as internet TV goes. It is an excellent tool from a promotion/PR standpoint. The more people that know about your team, the better But it isn't a necessity.
I mean it's great that people all over the world can watch indoor football games, but it doesn't directly translate ticket sales, and THAT is what it's all about.
Taking risks in some cases is good. Sometimes you have to just shell out a few dollars and hope that things work in your favor. But you have to have a few dollars to shell out.
