Ulitimate Indoor Football League will play in 2007

I phoned the number on the Arkansas Stars web site.
They said there will be 7 teams, which is advertised on the UIFL web site. A schedule will be coming out soon, keep checking the web page. I forgot to ask if that would be on the Stars site or the UIFL page. (Duh).
The merger between the UIFL and the NAIFL did not happen due to some scheduleing conflict. Possible merger might happen for 2008.

I know the UIFL was going to announce it's teams at the end of October, but the merger talks with the NAIFL must have put that on hold.
Hopefully they have not delayed too long to get things going and have a good season.

One of those 7 teams was the Conroe Storm, who are now supposedly playing in the APFL.

And the storm WILL Not finish the season! Mom and Dad own the Team, at least thats what was said when ask about the owner. MY MOM ownes it.

From the NAIFL site about the merger between the NAIFL and the UIFL;

"The NAIFL and the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) agreed to a merger, doubling the size of the league to up to 16 teams. The NAIFL brings the operations component and the UIFL brings the capitalization and franchise model. The consolidated leagues are in negotiations with two other leagues and will announce the details in the next few weeks.

The new consolidated league is seeking the same arrangements with other indoor leagues. Both parties are following their mission to build a league that maximizes the benefits to the teams. "

I would guess, and that is all this is is a guess, that the APFL was one of the other leagues. No idea who the other one was.

Also,
under the heading important dates, the NAIFL regular season is/was supposed top start January 27 and go through to May 19. 16 weeks with the Easter weekend off. But they do mention that they are giving the teams the option of a 16, 12 or 10 game season. I am guessing they are going with 10 games...IF...they are going at all.

I doubt the NAIFL will kick off this year if they are supposedly kicking off on Jan. 27. And I don't think the APFL will be merging into any league this year, though we have heard rumors about the APFL and IFL...

There was never any plans for the IFL to merge with the APFL. There were discussions in regards to possible interleague games. But nothing more.
