Where should the Earthquakes move?
Since it's obvious San Jose is losing the Quakes, where should they go?

I think they've made it pretty clear that if they move its to Houston.

They should move to the stadium renovation that Santa Clara University is considering... except that Santa Clara's "values" would appear to be compromised by the 'Quakes if they went into a joint venture. So much for that.
Prediction of where the 'Quakes will be next year: San Jose. The city of San Jose will get a measure on the ballot that will be soundly defeated, but the ballot measure has to happen in February or later, so the 'Quakes will have to stick around in the interim, and two months is just not nearly enough to establish in a new city. Besides, there's some question as to where the 'Quakes would play in 2006 if it were in Houston... and, really, nobody else is as ready. The whole point of getting out of San Jose is to get out of ridiculous rent payments, and every other option out there is no different.
If I bought the team... PORTLAND, OREGON.

So much for my prediction.
All welcome the Houston, um, whatevers. They'll get that straightened out, but at least they weren't purchased by Televisa / Club America with the thought of naming the team America USA (an interesting name for a satellite club of a Mexican team).
Don Garber is trying to hold out hope of bringing an expansion to San Jose if San Jose or a nearby suburb arrange partial funding for a soccer stadium. Do note that the main reason for the move may well be because land is cheaper in Houston.

I am glad that they are going to Houston and not Club Deportivo America.....but does not matter since LA Galaxy should be back and stronger next year.
I would like to see an MLS team in San Diego but SD has struggled to support teams here other then the Padres and Chargers.........

First rule of MLS: have an investor a DECENT market, and a good stadium plan (either find a way to get one built with at least free land or actually own the NFL team in the stadium they play in) and a team you shall have.
