I have sources that wish to remain anonymous, but are in the know enough that what they say can be taken as truth.
They tell me Sioux Falls players are paid in violation of league rules, anywhere from 400-1000 dollars. The incentive bonuses are based on position for things such as sacks, td's etc. All of which is against the IFL compensation rules. This was from one source. Below is from another.
SF players have openly been telling other players what they get paid in cash per game. They have incentive bonuses based on position for things such as sacks, td's etc. All of which is against the compensation rules. The over payments range anywhere from $400 - $1,000 (from what they say). One player from another IFL team says he saw 6 Dodge 300's, the van at the heart of the recent investigation, a blazer, and Dixon's Cadillac that they are given to drive for personal use. They call them buddy cars. 2 players per car except Dixon. He has his own.
Askew was asked if he could confirm these things and could only confirm the van. His story was backed up by a ticket he received while driving it. He could not confirm the other vehicles with any proof other than his say so. He also could not confirm the overpay as he wasn't with Sioux Falls long enough to personally collect any.
I personally can not confirm any of the above, but sources have been pretty darn right on in the past. What I've said was told to me and may not be 100% accurate, but generally where there's smoke there's fire. If Sioux Falls is breaking rules and their players accepting payments and incentives not in accordance with IFL rules all designed to win a championship I guess that speaks of their integrity and if true hope somewhere proof is found and whatever full penalty allowed by the IFL brought down on the. This is the kind of crap that needs to go away from minor league sports and all sports at any level for that matter.
Until your so called "sources" are named I would call BS on that. Ive worked for the storm and dont see these so called 6 dodge 300's whatever that is, I think you mean Chrysler. But I park in the same lot as players, and Ive never seen these cars. These "sources" are trying to bring SF down like everyone else is. Get over the fact the players want to play for a championship team with tradition and great coaching. If I could pick my team in any sport to play for I would pick the best team as well. Why would I want to play for Lehigh? they wont win anything. I wanna go where the rings are, and thats SF. The SF organization is the classiest I have seen and they treat players with the most respect. Thats why players come here. They call asking to play here. We would have been even more dominant if some of the players that wanted to come here could have. AKA Jasonus Tillery. You wanna play for the best, that doesnt mean they pay players extra. If they did the league would know. Especially if they investigate this BS story of an 85 dodge van, dont you think they would be hard on the case of this BS story. Stop making things up to make SF look bad. Everyone should quit hating and just face it that SF is the best team and nobody is gunna stop us.
It's amazing how some of these issues follow certain players, as well as the championships. If proven true, they would be making more the AFL counterparts. That being said, PROVE IT! We all know where there is smoke there is fire. Every IFL city should want this to be proven or cleared. If I was a owner, without any bias towards Sioux Falls, I would want to know if the deck was stacked. I would not want my product tied to a tainted team, season, league or Championship. If Sioux Falls is doing this, prove it or let it go OR change the rules so ALL teams are on level ground.

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THEY WANNA PLAY THERE FOR EXTRA CASH AND CARS TO DRIVE

PROBLEM IS THAT IT IS HARD TO PROVE. UNLESS A PLAYER IS GONNA SQUEEL, AND WHY WOULD HE DO THAT. WHAT I GATHER FROM THIS INSTANCE IS A PLAYER DID SQUEEL, AND THATS HOW THEY PROVED IT.
This kind of thing isn't new, has been going on in indoor football since its start and most likely in other minor leagues as well. Difficult to prove, yep, sure is as this isn't the NFL, there are not enough resources available in these smaller leagues to police or even investigate, but I think the Storm in their veiled threats to leave the IFL are not doing it because they feel wronged, but because they know they are on the verge of being found out on all their illegal doings and leaving would save them from having all the dity laudry exposed.
The league passed on a excellent opportunity to clarify, publicly, ALL areas of compensation. Including how the league views payment from or services received from 3rd parties. If you make the rules public, you actually increase enforcement. the more people that know, the more eyes you have. You'd think guys from Sioux City would be staked out in our arena parking lot if they knew what to look for.
The last time I saw Chris Dixon arrive any place he was driving a late 90's early 2000's white Ford Explorer with Montana plates, and by the looks of the outside, it's safe to say it had well over 100,000 miles on it. If I saw him driving a Black Escalade, I'd wonder, ya know...
The question remains. If the league rules do not address goods and services provided by sponsors, individuals, or other 3rd parties, then it's all fair game is it not? Even if the playing field was level, and everyone was playing by the same rules. At the moment, Sioux Falls is THE place to come and play indoor football. Coaching, fan base, training facilities, sponsorships...
If they ARE cheating, it would be safe to assume that they've always been at least pushing the limits of the rules. Does that taint all the championships? I don't know.. lets go ask a USC fan that attended one of their national championship games when Reggie Bush was there...it might taint it on paper, but in the hearts of the fans, it will not.
And, Lew.. I hear ya clucking big chicken... But if there WERE making more money, where's the influx of AFL and potentially borderline NFL talent into Sioux Falls?
We continue to have SO many teams in these leagues fail. Picking up the bottom does more to further the sport that knocking down the top.
Anyone in the 1950's think that Yankees were cheating when they were winning practically every World Series? Has the conscience of the nation transformed that much in the past 60 years? This sport seems to be loaded with too many owners trying to make money, and not enough trying to win. Parity does not allow sports leagues to build themselves up. None of the the current major sports leagues had salary caps until the last 20-30 years, and I suppose it's a much deeper argument that a single indoor football team and what they may or may not be doing to treat their players. Do we really want to live in a society where everyone gets a participation ribbon and has a fair chance? Life doesn't work that way.
Sports thrive in this country not because they are different from society but within them they are fully representative of society. The same dynamics that make things work in "real life" work in sports.
For all of us old enough to work in careers, and not just jobs, if someone comes at you with a job offer with the same pay, but a better working environment, more successful company with more and better benefits, it's hard, if not impossible to turn down. If Google has a job offer for me, I'm freaking listening, I don't know about y'all.

Bouncer, thats the point I was trying to make. The AFL talent would be banging the doors off if the pay was that good. Prove it or let it go. Period. One question on where the Storm would go, WHERE? There is no Northern league of any worth going.

I strongly doubt the IFL will let this go anytime soon. They know the alleged offenses of the Storm and maybe a few others, but proving any of it might take time and may never be proved.
