As far the those teams leaving for the NBL Canada, yes the PBL did them no favors but it was also driven by practicality. Keeping with the regional and not crossing the boarder avoids the trauma of passport and legal problems that cancel games!
Perhaps then stable leagues could align themselves to produce a playoff that would include each champions. That could be a vehicle for television and add a potential revenue stream.
