Interesting Interview from PBL Chairman of the Board
This seems to be an interesting forum for Minor League Sports. Check out this interview I saw while recording and watching online game 1 of the PBL's Championship finals between the Rochester RazorSharks and the Central Illinois Drive. It's quite interesting.

Didn't mention Walmart or McDonald's once.
He didn't mention the NBL of Canada, but they too operated regionally with little air travel.

That crook will never mention the NBL Canada. Half his league seceded last year to form the NBLC.
The other half also went away.

Ok...the trbl is all for a united minor league system, the same initiative that was on the agenda in the meeting in Chicago,so that would explain that shout out.
A minor league basketball "new world order".lol
This is guy is savy and slick. Clever how he mentions teams from the new ABA are interested in his league. How come he didnt mention the reasons why the "teams" said they left his league in 2010-2011.It is so easy to use the economy as a reason to "restructure" his league.

I don't think it's necessary to have any kind of alliance with the PBL. Minor league basketball needs a solid and real AA league and it shouldn't be the PBL.
I checked their website just now ( www.thepbl.com), and the banner for @sportstv links to a Breitbart article:
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1
Um...huh???
It's the banner that claims the PBL is the first minor basketball league to be televised on live TV. Now that's a damn lie. The NBDL's first game was on espn2. I saw the game myself. Tommy Lasorda was in Greenville checking the game out. They were also on NBATV and (then-called) Versus.
EDIT: Well, well, well...they fixed the wrong link but still claim to be the first minor league sports organization on television. Hell, that means ALL sports. Uh-huh. How adorable.

Someone associated with this league is savvy and slick?!? I don't think so. The economy still bites though. Four years running, right? The Great Depression didn't end until the build-up to World War II, right?

Regional Alliance
Sev was right about the business model. Being regional is the key, but vetting those teams prior by due diligence will maintain the model. As far the those teams leaving for the NBL Canada, yes the PBL did them no favors but it was also driven by practicality. Keeping with the regional and not crossing the boarder avoids the trauma of passport and legal problems that cancel games!
Perhaps then stable leagues could align themselves to produce a playoff that would include each champions. That could be a vehicle for television and add a potential revenue stream.
Good luck to all. Remember it is suppose to be about given players one more chance at the big time.
