Released today Mississippi Hound Dogs being taken over by the UIFL
to become a travel team.
Seems like another case of if you have the franchise fee you are in.
Doesn't matter if you don't have a pot to p-- in. Get in the UIFL and you'll receive so much support you'll be a millionaire by the 3rd game.
Just make sure you franchise cheque will not bounce.

There seems to be no vetting of the owners.
Ah.... We all know the fixes. No use rehashing the same-o same-o.
Its just a shame that some new owner was sucked in again and
lost his shirt. Most of all I feel for the players and fans.

Really DFWCC...Your thread titles really do need work.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if the UIFL cut and pasted it for the websites article.

Most of all I feel for the players and fans.

...at this point, I don't. We've learned our lesson with the AIFL, MAHL, GPBL and last seasons UIFL.

Some of us senior poster's have taken to the motto:

If it say's (sp) I don't consider it a viable minor league.

Point is, in a forum where folks don't feel a need to come by anyway. It looked more like a title of the "Andy Griffith" or "Leave it to Beaver" episode where the neighborhood pet was about to be euthanized...

More on thread. Is the UIFL really going to replace Mississippi, or just put together teams from the "y" like seemingly has been done in the past? If I recall correctly, the last AIFL year with travel teams ended in a disaster of cut and paste schedules....

I suggest the owners of financially viable teams from the CIFL, AIFL (or whatever they are called this week) and the UIFL get together and form a
new league with some standards.
1st off, 1 owner(s) 1 team ( no multiple teams to 1 owner)
2nd independent league mgt with Owners having control
3rd vetting of owners
4th performance guarentee bond

I'm sure there are other ideas but these pop up as no brainers.

I enjoy the sport live and just hope it remains viable.
