There is a basketball team in charleston by the same name. Any chance they are ran by the same person? If so, will they get off the ground? I can't find anything about the basketball team. Also, I'm new to arena football, how stable is this league. It's not like the ABA is it? Should I wait and see before I buy any tickets? thanks for the info
Wiffleman. This is a good league. Very interesting 7 on 7. Look forward to seeing the
Wild opening weekend. It is nothing like the ABA. Like the bus league mentality. Due
to the economy, a few teams r sitting out this year. But they'll be back in 2010 with
a couple more as well. League would like to have 15 or 16 teams. U will enjoy it.

Yes they are ran by the same person, getting off the ground might be an issue. Do you happen to have 20K$ to LOAN the CIFL leadership for an up comming court date. FEDERAL? The league is not that stable from 'MY SOURCES' because the went from 15 or 16 teams down to 8 this yr, but as far as your team the wild goes, best of luck there with them and hope they do pla, because that means more jobs there in the region and players getting to play.
It Was the BB team owner, DH, but there was mention of him in the press release. Seems like a good enough guy by phone but then you never know who is at the other end of the line. There are some issue's that are still up in the clouds regarding the whole WV team and wheather they will play or not, I am betting they are not, but again, hope so for the players looking to still get out there and mix things up,

Wild suspended from the CIFL

HUNTINGTON -- West Virginia Wild's debut in the Continental Indoor Football League is off.
The CIFL issued a statement Friday saying it indefinitely suspended the West Virginia Wild organization. West Virginia was scheduled to open the season Friday in Veterans Memorial Field House.
West Virginia Wild was given a deadline of noon Friday to provide the league with several key items, the news release said. The Wild's list of things to do included presenting proof of liability insurance and workers compensation; payment of the arena's mandatory deposit and finalizing the lease; securing a field system and equipment; and payment of an outstanding balance to the league.
Wild owner Daniel Hicks failed to provide any of the items requested and failed to return phone calls from CIFL co-founder Jeffrey Spitaleri, the league release said.
"We gave Dan (Hicks) many opportunities to complete the steps needed to be an organization in this league and, unfortunately, he didn't complete several of them," Spitaleri said. "We had to give him a deadline to meet the requirements and he didn't meet that deadline."
Not sure how the ABA Wild is doing right now, or if Hicks is still involved with
them. Word is that for the most part, they are not playing at all.

Statement on the 2009 Season
Friday, 20 February 2009 17:51
Some late developments and circumstances have caused the West Virginia Wild football team to cease any and all relations with the Continental Indoor Football League. The Wild will not compete in the CIFL for the 2009 season. "Due to Several issues we feel that it is not in our team, our players and community's best interest that we pursue this at this time," said Wild GM David Egnor. "However we are committed to bringing indoor football back to Huntington in the near future." This means the regularly scheduled home opener on February 27 has been canceled.
The Wild ownership and administration is currently in negotiations with other leagues and formulating a schedule for the future.
There will be further details and updates released within the next week.
For any other questions related to the team or the schedule call the Wild front office at 1-888-807-2154 ext 104.
