That is an impressive pre-season schedule for Manchester...
Honest question, how can a league (team) that plays 10 home games per REGULAR season over 3 calendar months afford to come together almost 8 weeks before the opener to play a preseason schedule? Just proportionally, that seems absurd.
With that "early start" comes player paychecks, practice rents (etc, etc) and many other expenses with VERY little gate revenue. For example, the Manchester preseason in calendar days is about 50% as long as the regular season?! Also, in the Manchester schedule attached, Manchester is only home 2 of the 6 games over the 7 week period prior to opening night.
Playing 2 home games 6 weeks before season start (and then hitting the road) is also not the most effective way of generating a "buzz" either (at least for Manchester).
Does not make sense to me...I am sure some of these owners (Manchester) have deep pockets but no one has endless pockets.
Seems like a way to dig a hole early to me. Hope I am wrong.
