Not sure about Chicago, but pre-season games are a great way to generate buzz as well as give a team an opportunity to get in sync before the season.

I hope we have some pre-season action!

That is an impressive pre-season schedule for Manchester...

Honest question, how can a league (team) that plays 10 home games per REGULAR season over 3 calendar months afford to come together almost 8 weeks before the opener to play a preseason schedule? Just proportionally, that seems absurd.

With that "early start" comes player paychecks, practice rents (etc, etc) and many other expenses with VERY little gate revenue. For example, the Manchester preseason in calendar days is about 50% as long as the regular season?! Also, in the Manchester schedule attached, Manchester is only home 2 of the 6 games over the 7 week period prior to opening night.

Playing 2 home games 6 weeks before season start (and then hitting the road) is also not the most effective way of generating a "buzz" either (at least for Manchester).

Does not make sense to me...I am sure some of these owners (Manchester) have deep pockets but no one has endless pockets.

Seems like a way to dig a hole early to me. Hope I am wrong.

P1, don't worry about the Millrats. Jason Briggs (majority owner of the Rats) has more money then God.

Didn't John Lennon say something very similar?!? Ticked-off the Vatican for years. Sounds like famous last words to me which makes Patroons1 correct. No one has endless pockets. That's why there is so much fear concerning the stock market and retirement accounts, nevermind that a lot of people aren't going to retire anytime soon. People don't like to lose money. It's only natural.

Famous last words?!? Remember the D-League Rimrockers? Didn't the owner of the Arkansas Rimrockers also have more money than the president? His team was three and out with nowhere to play the following year. Everyone reaches the point of calling it quits. Some sooner than others.

I understand Mid-Michigan and Battle Creek are playing December 27. One of the players informed me of this. I heard again that Coleco Buie is with Battle Creek.
