A nice and puffy statement comes out from the ABA about Manchester and Vermont from Atlanta. Meanwhile, working the phones is Joe from Indianapolis, calling the teams and threatening law suits, calling them names and threatening them with putting in replacement teams.
The rec league ABA is done, its over, there will be a few rec league teams this fall and thats about it in the ABA.
Joe IMO has no morals and its very unethical. he hides behind Quentin now while he does his dirty work. SHAMEFUL

Joe your con game is over !!! Face it.
What teams were called? What exactly was said? Does he suspect other teams are bolting? Are you hearing this from the teams directly, or 3rd hand?
Atlanta, GA. May 9, 2008: The American Basketball Association league office received conformation today that the Vermont Frost Heaves and Manchester Millrats will be departing the league effective immediately.
Excellent ... I dig sports team owners who make the right decisions!

The ABA is bigger, stronger, and more focused on the tremendous opportunity ahead.
The reality of the day seems to have clouded the minds of ABA Management.

The 2008-2009 season will be a remarkable sign of growth for the ABA as key adjustments are being made to solidify and secure a proper foundation that is both marketable and profitable.
ABA Management really has a hard time understanding what the concept of what GROWTH actually means, in relation to building and maintaining a minor league sports association.
The key adjustments will be, that the ABA Management will have to come to grips with the fact, that the teams who kept the ABA Alive this past season, have just exited the league ... and it appears there may be more?

well opportunity is a lot like a pile of manure in your backyard. You need to spread it around and make things grow, otherwise it just sits there like a pile of s*** stinking the place up.
A1sports - well history has proven you are usually spot on with this and this sort of loose cannon reaction is right up Joes alley. But why would Joe phone other teams and threaten them? What was his threat to the teams? Like, what was he telling them he would sue them for

Due to numerous threats of legal action from certain people.......all of the above is my opinion only and it should be noted that I have never invested in the ABA. It is simply one mans opinion.

So your asking for A1's legal advice? Not exactly his strong point.
Joe might claim breach of contract for jumping leagues, the only problem is the teams could counter sue for breach of contract for not doing things like making sure a team shows up. The last place Joe wants to be in is open court. Then all the ABA books get opened up and he really doesn't want that to happen. BTW, what happened with the money from the reverse merger? When is Snoop Dogg playing? When is Colours or PLAY ON (a Division of Turner Sports) or UATV going to broadcast games? Where are the shoes, socks and Little Rox?
I'll give Quentin credit on this one. If a league comments at all about departing teams, that's what they should say. To me, that was the most professional thing we've seen come out of the ABA in a very long time.
ABA teams are free to go whenever they want, by the league's own public admission, so any threats of lawsuits are empty.
