Oh yes these leagues that are unethical, mean spirited and unprofessional need to stop being leagues. They need to see how futile the ABA is and for them to know that there is only one league among all leagues of professional basketball the ABA.

With about 62 percent of scheduled ABA games having been canceled thus far, I'm reminded of this quote from http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3578849

"What are we actually selling to the public? Fast paced, fan friendly, affordable, cancellations?"

Granted, the league has cancelled 62% of their scheduled games, but most have been cancelled for months. We can't still blame the league for Minnesota, Rochester and like not showing up. We've already *****ed about them. What success the league can claim will be measured in the next month. We should take a look at the remaining games and see just how many are played. It will also give us a good look at what teams may be invited to the playoffs.

You mean such as this past Sunday when Boston called the morning of its afternoon road game with Montreal to tell them they weren't coming? Really the league can't claim "success" ("survival" would be a better word) for the few remaining teams that are trudging toward the end of the season. The teams are doing it on their own.

I don't believe there has been a league in the history of professional sports that has played less than 50% of its announced season for reasons other than a strike / lockout. And I think the NHL is the only one who did that even including lockouts and strikes.

The NHL Went on strike that was a legit reason. The ABA well their reasons are just bull.

Oh and GM Mike from the Tycoons lol. He took my line They read the boards.

You're right about the teams shouldering the burden. The league has had a terrible time retaining good teams from year to year, so this will be an interesting offseason. My only point was that failures in November and December shouldn't continue to compound. Texas, Atlanta et al have adjusted. If they don't play their newly announced games, then we can take issue. As for Boston, was it a Montreal issue, or coundn't the Blizzard get a few of the 32 players they've used this year to make the trip?

Mr. Newman mentioned it on the show. Sounds like Boston called at the last minute to cancel. No reason was cited. Nothing like leaving another team in the lurch.

Unfort, adjusted to having to schedule non-league opponents.

That's not what Professional Leagues do.

But then again, the ABA is a Semi-Pro/Amateur league.

And thinking about it further, the ABA is really not a part of a Minor League system ...

I guess the ABA ... is in a "leaque of their own!"
