Question IFL issues?

Is the IFL having issues? It's called the best of the rest of indoor leagues but I think this project franchise fan voting gimmick is a real stinker.
Also what was the point of limiting the # veteran players on each team?

I watched some YouTube of the FSN Rattler Spokane game and it looked good, so surprised to hear about Spokane issues...

>>League owed thousands by Salt Lake City and Colorado (same owner) and they will be folding at end of the yr according to all reports. Iowa and Cedar Rapids attendance way down. Spokane supposedly losing lots of money too. <<

>>On April 20, 2017, The Wall Street Journal reported that Project FANchise was planning on launching a new league called the "Interactive Football League". Project FANchise CEO Sohrob Farudi confirmed that the Screaming Eagles would finish the 2017 Indoor Football League season.<<

Any other info? Thoughts?

New Interactive Football League Would Let Fans Call Plays; Deal Possible With Twitch

Published April 21, 2017

An investment group called Project Fanchise is "planning to start a new indoor-football league that lets fans call plays in real-time from their mobile devices or home computers, make personnel decisions and even choose the warm-up music before games,"

Simply ridiculous if you thought the straw man was torn to bits in the Wizard of OZ oh what fans without real knowledge of the game would do in such a concept, while parts of it could be used in some way the concept really offers nothing to fix a broken model.

Next man up please!

Default Ifl

Of the IFL I've seen its been better than expected. It would be a shame if they folded. But they need to get stable ownership-franchises just like any league (eg AFL).
Perhaps an AFL approach, teaming with minor league hockey teams and in larger markets (meaning for a 2nd tier indoor league) like Iowa sized (600k-1mm).
And not allowing gimmicky owners, the FANChise owners in is on the league for that decision.
Otherwise turmoil will always be there. All easier said then done of course, but for the better.

Default IFL Issues

All I know is that the team here in CO doesn't get any publicity even in there own city's newspaper/websites/etc. so if the Colorado Crush does shut down/move to another league, not too many people will care . . .

IFL's biggest mistake probably was to have two of these FANchise teams play this season - one would be enough to see if the concept could work . . .

Maybe the Indoor Football/Arena Football has run its course with the public and might need a reboot of some sorts . . . not sure what that could/would look like but just throwing it out there.

Agreed on 2 new project FANchise teams at once not too wise.

As far as the reboot - The AFL is basically trying that - thinking big and getting owner operators that have existing larger spprts franchises to leverage the front and back office, buying power to reduce rent and other expenses ot even own the arena.
The IFL needs to fill a niche in a similar way but lower level - if possible - along with phoenix that provides street cred

Making a connection with local media is a necessity. not sure what the famchiae is doing there

Lordby 2014, your point is one discussed among all minor league sports teams, the advantage major league sports has is a built in infomercial based upon the local media, they hype and promote them three minutes each news cast is devoted to the promotion of them.

Some will say its because they have such large fan bases this is not true, take the 50,000 that might attend a football game that will be still a small amount of the general population of most cities that don't care about the football team, take the Texas Rangers the new indoor stadium being built will seat only 30,000 because they can't draw 45,000 consistently its a mirage.

Minor league teams don't in this day and time still understand the marketplace, In the new fast and way out there movie, they use the term choice theory which is what the movie is really about with a lot action and misdirection, well in short the same applies here they have a choice but fail to understand what it is.
