Default Spring League Game #1

Positives:

1 - No one got seriously injured.
2 - They played all four (12-minute) quarters.
3 - There were points scored.
4 - Woods is better as a TV guy than a sports executive.

Negatives:

1 - Haphazard football (not a surprise, football is hard with a short camp).
2 - Terrible TV production.
3 - Lost 75% of its audience by fourth quarter.
4 - Woods' typical hyperbole.
5 - Sounded like very few people were there.

Cool Academy ball

While they call this a league it's geared towards players and potential teams. It's an academy style training camps with controled scrimages or preseason style games. Nothing wrong with that but the marketing or the promotion of the league doesn't match that. Especially without TV.

This is why the fxfl was a better league for fans, it's true minor league ball, a hybrid may work but this is not that. And with out a tv focus no need to dress it up like they did the early fxfl games. The focus here is to give players a chances back in the NFL /CFL, at least as a camp fodder.

Why bother selling tickets - give them away except for pro scouts etc.

"This guy practiced against actual NFL players, many times. Those teams didn't think he was good enough."

"But now he's scrimmaging against other guys who aren't any good, either."

"Oh, yeah! We should totally sign him!"

Yes, what a better league the FXFL was, with it, you know, not actually playing all of its games and stuff.

Based on the Facebook live comments, it appears the majority of people watching are parents and friends of the players.

It's nice when you can go through all these machinations to allow people to play football for their friends and family to watch.

Hey, I'm far too lazy to cross reference, but are there any top dtsfted MLFB dudes playing at The Greenbrier or don't they (or their "agents") have the $350 to spare?

I didn't see first rounders like Joe Adams, Taylor Belstering, Stephen Garcia, Casey Pachall, Darron Thomas, and Emmanuel Stephens, listed nor their media dtaftee Donte Rumph on roster for Woods this April.

Shouldn't those cats have at least $750 in credit to pay for the application fee and travel to get there? It would've been just another $3 on their minimum balance to pay just to register to be there.

Don't think so.

Who was that agent guy who was Facebooking that "MLFB hasn't folded, be positive, I know what's happening and you don't" and blah blah blah blah?

I would imagine most of those MLFB guys are right where they ought to be: selling insurance and getting free drinks based off their college careers.
