Surprised actually...didn't they finish first place in the SIFL regular season last year, and then go undefeated in the LSFL this year before they shut down?

Yes on all counts minor league. I think Houston may need to move to a smaller venue next year, thats not as expensive because at the end of the day I think that was their biggest problem.
Unfortunately for them, the franchise doesn't get paid for winning games. Really, the on the field record is nearly irrelevant to the team's fiscal health.

90 miles East to Beaumont I have been told the rent at Ford Park is less than half the cost as the Merrel Center in Katy plus in Katy you they nickle and dime you to death with all the extras that are needed. (staffing, field set-up and storage, etc.) Plus Ford Park can sale BEER and in the past has given a good cut on concession sales.
But if they're pulling the plug on this season, what's to even assume they'll give it another try next year?
Exactly. Houston, Katy, whatever, is done for good. Whoever gets their players (Robert Kent, KaMichael Hall, that WR who played in the UFL, ect.) will get a very good team.
