SAVANNAH GRIZZLIES ADDED TO FAST GROWING ABA SOUTHEAST DIVISION
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it has added the Savannah Grizzlies to its fast growing Southeast Division. “We’re very pleased to be back in Savannah,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “We’re very confident with the new ownership and feel that they will have an excellent organization and team.”
The Savannah Grizzlies are owned by Dr. Fredrick Heath, a native of Savannah who graduated from Savannah High School where he played basketball and football. He has been coaching for over fifteen years and believes that sports are a great avenue to reach the community. Dr. Heath has served as owner of the AAU Shooting Stars, a team that has over 15 city championships in both football and basketball. He also currently serves as running back coach for Calvary Day School in Savannah, is the founder of Revelation Cathedral Fellowship where he serves as Senior Pastor having received his doctorate from Covington Theological Institute.
“I am excited to bring the ABA back to the city of Savannah,” added Dr. Heath. “Excitement is in the air. I have a passion for sports and my community. Great things are to come for Savannah, “the city that sits by the Sea,” better known as “Seaport.” For more information, call 912 604 1073 or email email@example.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Aside from the name, location, and somewhat similar logo. Would one think Embry could have some sort of case for *stating trademark infringement here?
It just seems that something a bit more original could have been used with this franchise being so close by.
* - "Stating". As in I don't know if he has it trademarked (doubtful) or if he would have a "case". Because it would be difficult to put a price on exactly how much two same named teams in an area would take from his "profits".
IMO - Savannah hasn't tipped-off yet, but has already recorded a steal. As in, on the Gwizz brand....
A pro football Hall-of-Fame without Art Modell as a contributor is like a Baseball Hall-of-Fame without Pete Rose as a player. What's the point of it???
