Default Salmon Kings future?

I hate to report the exit of the only Canadian team in the ECHL and the second pro sports team to leave Victoria (first was our GBL Seals) but I can see the writing on the arena wall.
Here are the facts:
- Darren Parker has joined the Salmon Kings front office (he has loads of baseball and hockey experience) & hint hint, Regina Pats WHL links
- Salmon Kings have just not been able to get fans out to the rink, my guess is 2,000 per game
- WHL Chilliwack Bruins have been sold and the new owners want to move the team to Victoria
Here is where the writing gets a bit cloudy. My guess is the Salmon Kings will fold/move after the playoffs and a WHL team will come to Victoria.
More to follow as it all unfolds.

What I get for having way too much fun in Portland (hint: Bob Ryan can stick it): I missed this.

If you care about lower levels in junior, there's a chain reaction following this that's rather interesting.

More interesting is the league clearly market-hunting and, finally, returning to Victoria. Can't be happy in the 'Wack.

Unhappy

The latest news from Victoria.
We are getting a WHL Junior team next year. Chilliwack has lost their team. Our Salmon Kings are likely folding after the playoffs so next year we get to watch teenagers.
The losers in all this are the fans, naturally. Chilliwack and SK fans here in Victoria are upset as you can expect after supporting our respective teams for years.
After allowing time to let the anger and shock settle down I have come to the conclusion that sports = business, period. If we, the fans, did not fill the rink or ballpark enough so that the owners could turn a profit then I understand the owner's decision to move on.
The overall picture is much bigger than my brain as it involves the NHL, with a Coyotes move to Winnipeg, the AHL with the Manitoba Moose then having to move (not to Victoria now as the WHL has blocked that nicely), etc....
In conclusion, thank you for letting me report the end of our second pro team to leave the city in six months, time for me to take up lawn bowling.
