Default Schedule?

I recently moved to a city near Edmonton and was interested in heading to Energy games. However, I can't find a schedule. The IBL's page says it would be announced in fall of 2009, well its mid-winter 2010 and still nothing. Is this par for the course for this league?

Pretty much, yes. The deadline for teams entering the league is in the winter (if memory serves me well). The Elkhart Express just announced their intentions to rejoin the league last week.

The IBL site promises information long before it delivers - happens every year. I wouldn't expect to see a schedule until late February at the earliest. The schedule on the IBL site sometimes doesn't get up there until the pre-season games have already been played.

You may have better luck with the individual team website.

Well hopefully the Energy gets their schedule up soon. I do want to hit at least a couple of their games, but they better play mostly weekends.

Who has released their schedules so far? I found one for Albany, Tacoma and Bellingham. Are others out yet?

Schedules are on the IBL website - the Express schedule shows North Side Gym as their home court but according to the local paper, that is not quite a done deal. Looks like the Championship game will be out west again, both Elkhart and Battle Creek are scheduled to be out west as their games - so they'll be there already for the Championship, I guess.

It would be nice if they came out now with the plan for the championship and stuck with it, instead of the say one thing, do another routine of the past.

What's holding up the deal? Are there issues with the local school board? Here in Gary, the school board is in complete turmoil. Lots of backbiting.

The paper hasn't had anything on any negotiations with the school board or any other entity. I know there's concern about 'city money' being used for the team, so that could be part of it, or it could just be a matter of the timing of the board meetings. I can't think of any place that would fit the Express's needs - our average turnout was above the capacity of most high school gyms and there's no local arenas that could be used instead.
